This new Ready-to-Carve(tm) / Ready-to-Burn(tm) "Stars & Stars" (tm) Coaster was introduced on a limited basis in June 2020. It served as the basis for the new "Stars & Stars" Trivet released at the same time. Reviews have been outstanding.

This design replaces the previous "Star Coaster",

which was smaller in all dimensions - especially thickness. I had a lot of loss

due to warping and twisting wood - especially when I traveled to other

locations with considerably different levels of heat and humidity. So, I was

already looking for a better solution. That solution came in the form of

thicker pieces that are dimensionally square. The "Stars & Stars"

design has an interesting repeating pattern of 5-pointed Stars, which I'm also

partial to.

If you've seen the photos of this Coaster, or the matching

Trivet, you might notice a difference if you purchase either. I originally

placed the dots, for the 3-sided chips to be removed, in the wrong place. That

was corrected on the image file used to print the pattern on the wood.In short,

assume that the right-hand side of every Star Point is carved away, instead of

the left-hand side. It just looks better to me.

No matter how you approach it, skipping the layout and moving

directly into carving or burning a new design has become a very popular

concept. I hope you enjoy this challenging but fun piece.
