This Ready-to-Carve(tm) / Ready-to-Burn(tm) 8in Beaded Edge Basswood Plate is well-suited to any experienced Chip Carver - from Intermediate through Advanced.

From the time I designed and first carved this piece in 2005, I have consistently received compliments and requests for a pattern. I introduced it, along with another 8" beaded edge Ready-to-Carve(tm) / Ready-to-Burn(tm) plate, at the Charlotte NC Showcase of Woodcarvings (the largest Show in the Southeastern US) in February 2019 and received a great deal of attention from Chip Carvers who were interested n carving it themselves. Now, as a Ready-to-Carve(tm) and Ready-to-Burn(tm) product, I'm receiving that same level of interest all over again. The two 8" plates proved to be the most popular introduction of a new Ready-to-Carve item in 2019.

As mentioned in the description of the 12-Point Rosette surrounded by border containing eight (8) stylized leaves design, on an 8in. beaded edge plate design, it's important that any carver doing this piece, pay close attention to maintaining smooth, uninterrupted lines that separate the fans and center swirl from one another. In other words, when carving this piece, pay as much attention to the bounding lines as to the figures themselves.

I was impressed when the Chip Carving enthusiasts, and some pyrographers, attending the Charlotte, NC Show mentioned previously, snatched them up like they were free. It was a great feeling.

No matter how you approach it, skipping the layout and moving directly into carving or burning a new design has become a very popular concept. I hope you enjoy this challenging but fun piece.
