CHIP CARVING NEWS

9/5/2018

Keep It Short & Simple
(a kinder, gentler version of the "KISS" acronym)

I confess that I enjoy the "artsy" use of special fonts, colors, images, and other embellishments, when creating articles and emails. In doing so, my goal is always intended to make the message easier to understand and take action on, if appropriate. Clearly, I sometimes "miss the mark".

Last month, for example, I found myself reading and re-reading; changing and re-changing, editing and ... (you get it), so much that I completely lost my focus and my purpose. Finally, I deleted the whole thing, cleared my mind with some therapeutic carving (which is any carving) and made a plan to return to it in a few weeks..

Here I am, a few weeks later, determined to stay on track without the glitz. For now, I need to cover two important time sensitive items.

Ready-to-Carve Prices to Increase October 25th, 2018

The Price Increases that I announced on May 16, 2018 (about 3-1/2 months ago) were never implemented, even though the special "pre-price-increase" discount of 15% off all Ready-to-Carve products was implemented and utilized by many, as I had  intended.

Now, in preparation for this first category-wide price increase, I've utilized the "Sale Price" feature in the Online Store to display the new price (in this case, it's grey and marked through), followed by the current price (displayed as "Sales Price" for now). This is the only choice I have to show two different prices. On October 25th, you'll see just one price for these items (the new price). You can visit the Ready-to-Carve category page now, to see for yourself. Please let me know if you have questions or suggestions.

Chip Carving Fundamentals Class, November 2-3, 2018

The Sawtooth School for Visual Art, located in downtown Winston-Salem, NC, will be hosting it's first Chip Carving Class on Friday and Saturday, November 2nd and 3rd - just 2 months from now. This "Fundamentals" class is open to those who have no prior experience with Chip Carving, as well as, those who wish to "refresh" what they've previously learned and to gain new insights on how to move their skills to a new level.
