Welcome to the new "CHIP CARVING NEWS"!
This Blog is an example of how age affects attitude. I've been known to say, "I'll never ________" (fill in the blank) a few times over the past several decades .... okay, many times! One of them has been, "I'll never write a Blog". Yet, here I am, writing a Blog! Why? I caved-in for a few reasons, but mostly because it's easier! I often feel the need to communicate with friends and colleagues about something I've learned or done that might be of interest, but hadn't found the right vehicle for doing so. Yes, I have used "Chip Carving News" in a traditional newsletter format in the past to do much the same thing. But honestly, I find it difficult to get started. The publishing tools (layout, fonts, etc.) are tedious and sometimes finicky - i.e., time consuming! I find myself spending far more time fooling with the publishing tools (fonts, spacing, footers, headers, pages breaks etc.) than I do writing the text. My hope is that this Blog will serve the same purpose while making it easy for you to respond, ask questions, and make suggestions. In other words, I hope it will provide a better forum for sharing information and ideas. As always I welcome your feedback. Regards, Bill p.s., Please click on the "Comment" link below if you'd like to respond.

Great way to communicate...I do not subscribe to Facebook, so this works much better for me. I would like to locate a sea turtle pattern and maybe one of your classes will be to teach how to layout a chip pattern on a simply carved turtle.

Thanks for that feedback Rosemary. I'm not much of a "facebooker" either. Great idea on the Sea Turtle Class. I've had a couple of similar requests and I'm seriously looking at offering such a class for this fall.

Read your blog and enjoyed your comments. Still have the book about aquatic life with great pictures. I'll try to get it to you soon. Keep up the good work and promoting woodcarving.

Please keep up whatever works best for you. I'd rather have content than form. This format works for me as a reader. Comments are closed.
